Wall fashions change just as fast as clothing fashions, unfortunately changing your wardrobe may be a little easier than changing yourwallpaper.  The good news is that most wallcoverings manufactured in the last 20 years were designed to be removed easily.  If the walls were prepared correctly before the installation, the wallpaper can usually be removed very easily.  The more difficult jobs involve removing multiple layers, products manufactured more than 20 years ago, and wallpaper installed directly over new sheetrock with no primer. In most cases difficult removals can be avoided by priming over the existing wallpaper with an oil based primer. Seams and bubbles can be cut out and floated over with drywall compounds to reveal a fresh new surface to either install your new wallcovering over or texture and paint.
